An opportunity has arisen for a Part Time Maintenance Operative to join the team at boatfolk’s Royal Quays Marina in North Shields.
The successful candidate will join a practical, safety-focused team responsible for maintaining high standards across the marina and boatyard. This is a hands-on role focused on site maintenance, infrastructure upkeep, and supporting day-to-day marina operations. The Maintenance Operative plays an important part in ensuring the marina remains safe, compliant, and well presented for berth holders and visitors.
Key requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates should be able to demonstrate:
- Practical maintenance experience in general repairs or a relevant trade background
- A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and use initiative
- A strong awareness of health and safety and safe working practices
- Experience undertaking general maintenance tasks such as painting, minor plumbing, basic carpentry, and site repairs
- A full UK driving licence is essential
- Experience within a marina, boatyard, or maritime environment is desirable
- Experience operating plant or boat hoists would be advantageous, although training will be provided where required
