Looking for an opportunity to join a capital finance team?
We're looking for a Deputy Finance Manager to join our team here at Islington council! This role will be primarily delivering business partnering to the General Fund capital programme. There will be also be opportunities to be involved with technical capital accounting and asset accounting.
An ideal candidate would have strong public sector business partnering experience. Experience of capital accounting is desirable but not required. Please note applicants will NOT be shortlisted for interview if they are not qualified, or actively studying towards a CCAB qualification (preferably CIPFA) and expected to qualify in the next 6 months.
The General Fund has a £210m capital programme over the next 10 years. This role will be key to ensuring good governance and financial control over this programme, providing good service to clients and budget holders, and ensuring the programme and strategy aligns and delivers to Islington's priorities and ambitions, and value for money for residents.
We are a vibrant team, sat within corporate finance covering all aspects of capital finance - business partnering, strategy and governance, asset accounting and production of statement of accounts. This role presents great opportunities for a candidate to continue their learning and development on the job.
