We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Teacher of Science to join our fantastic team at MEA Central
This is a permanent, full time role starting September 2026. The salary for this post is MPS/UPS on the Teachers Pay Scale.
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, committed and reflective classroom practitioner who:
• Has a passion for teaching Science and securing excellent outcomes for all students
• Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire curiosity and enthusiasm
• Is committed to inclusive practice and raising achievement across all ability ranges
• Works collaboratively with colleagues to develop high-quality teaching and learning
• Has high expectations of student behaviour, engagement and achievement
• Is keen to contribute to the wider life of the school and the ongoing development of the curriculum
Main purpose of the job:The post holder is required to fulfil the professional responsibilities common to all classroom teachers, as outlined in the current School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document. The post holder will meet the Professional Standards for Teachers appropriate to their career stage and exercise professional judgement in carrying out their duties collaboratively.The key purpose of the role is to secure high standards of teaching, learning and achievement in Science, ensuring that all students make strong progress and are supported to reach their full potential. The post holder is accountable to the Curriculum Leader, Senior Leader, and ultimately the Headteacher.
Key Responsibilities
• Promote the academic progress, wellbeing and positive behaviour of all students
• Plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive lessons across Science
• Contribute to the development of an ambitious Science curriculum
• Assess, monitor and report on progress, implementing timely interventions
• Work collaboratively within the Science team to support the school’s vision
• Reflect on and improve practice through professional development and shared expertise
• Support curriculum development, examinations and school improvement priorities
• Participate in meetings, duties and enrichment activities as required
• Build positive relationships with students, parents/carers and external partners
