What skills and experience we're looking for
Bridge Academy Trust is a collegiate and collaborative Trust comprising of 11 schools, where, first and foremost, each school is a place of high-quality learning, where young people ENJOY, ENRICH, ACHIEVE & ASPIRE. The core purpose is to provide high-quality continuity of every child’s journey through education from 3 to 19, with a community and school-led school improvement approach and long-term sustainable strategy. About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join Bridge Academy Trust to support our new initiative supporting reading across our 4 secondary schools. The successful candidate will work with our secondary schools with identified children 1-2-1 (or very small group) to accelerate their reading age. You will be supported by a dedicated team to bring about the desired improvements. You will maximise the use of school’s reading schemes and liaise with the school-based reading leads to ensure that staff, parents,and children are all engaged in the reading intervention programme. The aim is for these children to have a reading age in-line with their biological age as soon as possible.
We are seeking to appoint an individual who:
• Is passionate about literature and engaging pupils with reading
• Has experience in reading schemes used in schools
• Has the ability to adapt teaching of reading to meet pupils’ needs
• Has the ability to build effective working relationships with pupils
• Is ambitious for our pupils, our schools and themselves.

Work Schedule:
12 hours per week over 2 days
8:30am – 3:00pm 30 mins unpaid break
Term Time Only + 5 Inset Days, 39 weeks a year

Primarily based in Halstead but may be required to work at other schools within our Trust.
