Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Barts Health NHS Trust to join our team as a NEL Commercial Research Delivery Centre (CRDC) Clinical Educator.

This role will play a central part in strengthening and developing the commercial research workforce across Barts Health, Homerton Healthcare, and Barking, Havering & Redbridge University Hospitals. As part of the NEL CRDC Workforce Development function, you will support the growth of high‑quality, inclusive research delivery across North East London

As a Clinical Educator, you will lead on the design, delivery and evaluation of research education and clinical skills training for NEL CRDC research teams and partner organisations. You will work closely with clinical staff across multiple specialties, providing expert supervision, mentorship and assessment of competence. The role also offers the opportunity to maintain clinical practice and, where required, support the delivery of commercial research studies across the region.

You will act as a subject matter expert for research education, ensuring staff are trained and competent in line with statutory, mandatory and sponsor requirements. You will also contribute to service improvement, support induction programmes, and collaborate with regional and national partners to promote a consistent, high‑quality learning culture across the CRDC network.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse or AHP with extensive experience in clinical research delivery, strong teaching and facilitation skills, and a passion for developing others. Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills are essential, along with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across multiple organisations.

Barts Health is one of the largest NHS trusts in the country, and one of Britain’s leading healthcare providers.

The Barts Health group of NHS hospitals is entering an exciting new era on our improvement journey to becoming an outstanding organisation with a world-class clinical reputation. Having lifted ourselves out of special measures, we now have the impetus and breathing space to chart a fresh course in which we are continually striving to improve all our services for patients.

Our vision is to be a high-performing group of NHS hospitals, renowned for excellence and innovation, and providing safe and compassionate care to our patients in east London and beyond. That means being a provider of excellent patient safety, known for delivering consistently high standards of harm-free care and always caring for patients in the right place at the right time. It also means being an outstanding place to work, in which our WeCare values and behaviours are visible to all and guide us in how we work together.

We strive to live by our WeCare values and are committed to promoting inclusion, where every staff member has a sense of belonging. We value our differences and fully advocate, cultivate and support an inclusive working environment.

This post offers excellent opportunities for professional development, including involvement in regional and national initiatives, access to learning and development expertise, and the chance to shape the capability and confidence of the research delivery workforce across North East London. The postholder will be expected to work across partner organisations as required.
