The Database Programmer supports the development, maintenance and optimisation of the Trust’s database systems, providing specialist programming capability and technical input to ensure efficient data storage, access and system performance. The role requires strong skills in SQL Server, cloud technologies, system configuration and scripting, together with the ability to design and test programs that automate clinical and operational processes. The postholder works closely with Data and Performance teams, contributing to database lifecycle management and supporting technical delivery across digital projects.
• Provides specialised knowledge, support and advice on all matters pertaining to the database administration of trust data servers, data architecture and cloud infrastructure in order to ensure data integrity, good governance and optimal database performance.
• Designs programs and program modifications from supplied specifications, using agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well-engineered result.
• Provides specialist database and server / cloud infrastructure advice support to projects within area of responsibility
• Manages the day-to-day workload, providing guidance and training to innovations team.
• Provides specialist database development, cloud technology and programming support on technical aspects of IT projects, and modifications to applications to ensure that they take account of relevant IT technical strategies, policies, standards, and practices and that they
are compatible with existing and planned IT systems and infrastructure.
• Monitors budgets for the service and related projects
