Salary - £31,493 per annumHours - 37 hours per week, all year roundContract - PermanentLocation - Peterborough - some travel to Stamford when requiredClosing Date - 19th March 2026Inspire Education Group is looking for a proactive and knowledgeable Health and Safety Officer to join our Estates team. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in supporting a safe and compliant environment for staff, students and visitors across our campuses.Working closely with the Group Director of Estates, Facilities and Health and Safety, you will provide advice and guidance on health and safety legislation, support managers with risk management, and help promote a positive culture of safety across the organisation.Key responsibilities include:• Providing health and safety advice and guidance to managers and staff• Carrying out health and safety audits and inspections across departments• Reviewing and maintaining risk assessments, including fire risk assessments• Investigating accidents and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements (RIDDOR)• Supporting the development and implementation of health and safety policies• Delivering health and safety training and inductions• Organising fire drills and supporting emergency procedures• Monitoring accident data and identifying trends to improve safetyAbout youWe are looking for someone who has experience working in a health and safety role and is confident working with colleagues at all levels. You will have strong communication and organisational skills and a proactive approach to improving safety standards.Essential requirements:• Level 3 qualification in Health and Safety• Level 2 English, Maths and IT• First Aid qualification• Full clean driving licence• Experience carrying out risk assessments• Good IT skills including Microsoft OfficeDesirable:• Experience within the education sector• Experience in health and safety auditingWhat we offer• 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays and discretionary days• Local Government Pension Scheme• Ongoing professional development• A supportive working environmentNormal working hours are 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday, although occasional evening or weekend work may be required for events (time off in lieu will be provided).All offers of employment are subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
