Personal and Professional Development Tutor Location: The Henley College, Henley-on-Thames Contract Type: Permanent 18.5 hours per week term time only (39 Weeks) Salary: £13,294.55 (£31,086.00 FTE 0.427670) Working Hours: Monday and Thursday 08:30 – 16:30 (including 30 minutes unpaid Tuesdays 12:30 – 16:30 (including 30 minutes unpaid lunch break) About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Personal and Professional Development Tutor to join our student support team at The Henley College. This rewarding and student-focused role plays a vital part in helping our learners succeed – both academically and personally – as they prepare for life beyond college. Working closely with a number of student groups, you will deliver engaging sessions on a range of topics including wellbeing, careers, and university preparation. You’ll also provide 1-to-1 support and play an important role in promoting attendance, monitoring academic progress, and encouraging personal growth. You will be a key link between students, curriculum teams and parents – ensuring a strong support network is in place and helping young people thrive during this important stage of their lives. This role offers an excellent development opportunity for those considering a career in teaching. It provides valuable experience in delivering sessions, working closely with curriculum teams, and supporting the holistic development of young people in an educational setting. Main Responsibilities We’re looking for someone with strong communication skills, a passion for working with young people, and a supportive, positive approach. The ideal candidate will have: Good record keeping skills Plan and deliver group activities To assist students with there progression and produce references in line with college procedure Excellent communications skills liaising with a number of stakeholders Experience working with or supporting young people (post-16 education experience desirable) Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail The ability to build rapport and hold constructive, sometimes challenging conversations Knowledge of safeguarding, GDPR, and confidentiality principles A proactive, energetic outlook and a commitment to helping students progress A basic teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one) Why Join Us?
