This is a busy and dynamic team offering a statutory and leaving care services to unaccompanied young people.
This can be demanding but rewarding work. We have a strong teamwork ethos with frequent team meetings. You can expect regular formal supervision, easy access to informal support and excellent in-house training.
We are seeking a dedicated Personal Advisor who understands the responsibility and privilege of supporting unaccompanied children. You will contribute to a culture of care, safeguarding and ambition, ensuring that each young person receives the consistent support and opportunities they need to achieve their potential.
In 2023 we retained our overall GOOD grading from Ofsted in our ILACS.

About You
You should have very good communication skills and have a persistent approach in engaging with resistance. A lot of our work is about helping Young People to plan into the future including health, accommodation, education employment and training etc. You should therefore be able to show assessment and planning skills to meet needs and address risk. You should be passionate about helping Young People achieve positive outcomes in their lives. You should also feel comfortable in addressing complex and challenging needs, risks and behaviours. You should understand the disadvantage faced by Care Leavers and Homeless Young People and be able to work creatively and collaboratively to redress this balance, giving the relevant advice and support.
