Crynodeb
The successful applicant will be expected to cross site work. Due to the nature of the work, flexibility around working hours is necessary. The Endoscopy service provides a 6 days service working from Monday to Saturday. To act as patients advocate during invasive procedures. To ensure patients privacy and dignity are maintained at all times. To assist as directed clinical staff during procedures involving sedation and/or local anaesthesia or general anaesthesia. To monitor and record accurately patient observations. To comply with Trust policy regarding the handling and storage of medicines. To participate in admission, recovery and discharge of all endoscopy patients, in accordance with unit policies and patient pathways, reporting to qualified staff as directed. To be aware of their own limitations in dealing with potentially difficult and/or sensitive situations. Cannulate patients following appropriate training and assessment. Decontaminate and prepare endoscopic equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Trust Policy. Maintain traceability processes within the department.
