Crynodeb
To be responsible and accountable for the nursing care of designated named patients from admission to discharge. To participate in the care, maintenance and use of endoscopes used in endoscopic and non-endoscopic procedures, providing technical assistance during procedures. To ensure provision of a high standard of nursing care to patients attending the Endoscopy Unit, working within agreed policies and procedures. To ensure individual assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care from admission to discharge or transfer, producing documented evidence of this in agreed format. Correct documentation of patient care using the endoscopy unit care pathway including written discharge and aftercare information for patients. To liaise and communicate effectively with relatives, carers and visitors. To liaise and communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team, other hospital departments and outside agencies (e.g. ambulance service, social services, transport etc.) providing patient centred care.
