About the Role
- Female Waking Night Support Worker
- Part time - 20 hours per week
- Harston, Cambridgeshire.
- Full UK driving licence essential.
We're looking for a Female Waking Night Support Worker to join our supported living home in Harston, Cambridgeshire, where you will play a vital role in ensuring comfort, safety, and reassurance throughout the night.
You will work as part of a two-person team (one waking night and one sleep-in) and provide attentive support to four people, three ladies and one gentleman, aged from their late 20s to their 50s. Each person communicates in their own way: the ladies use facial expressions and body language, while the gentleman uses words and enjoys positive interaction. All three ladies are PEG-fed, and you'll receive full training, so you feel confident and supported in delivering this care.
Your night-time responsibilities will include:
- Providing personal care in a respectful, dignified way.
- Administering medication (training provided).
- Carrying out regular observations.
- Supporting specialised health needs such as PEG.
- Completing light household tasks to prepare for the following day.
Shifts- x2 nights per week - 9:45pm- 7:45am.
A full UK driving licence and access to your own car are essential.
About You
You'll bring previous experience in providing care or support to people with learning disabilities and/or autistic people, along with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred support. You'll be confident in working waking night shifts and comfortable with responsibilities such as personal care, medication, and supporting specialised health needs (full training for PEG will be provided).
You will be someone who works calmly and thoughtfully, with a genuine belief in supporting people to feel safe, respected, and valued throughout the night.
