Finance Manager

  • Location: Reading - Hybrid, 3 days on site
  • Rate: £450-£475 per day (via Umbrella)
  • Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday-Friday
  • Contract Length: 6 months

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our team on a 6‑month contract, supporting high‑quality financial reporting, controls and operational delivery. This is a key role within the finance function, offering the opportunity to lead month‑end processes, guide a talented team, and ensure robust financial governance across the organisation.

You will work in a hybrid capacity, spending three days per week in our Reading office.

Key Responsibilities

As Finance Manager, you will:

  • Lead the month‑end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness through the review and approval of key journals.
  • Manage, mentor and develop a team of accountants and finance analysts, supporting their growth and performance.
  • Assist with year‑end group pack preparation and review, ensuring high‑quality submissions.
  • Ensure full compliance with Group financial control policies, including oversight of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Oversee the transition of completed development projects into the operational portfolio, driving continuous improvement in processes and financial controls.

About You

  • You will bring strong technical accounting expertise, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to operate confidently in a fast‑paced environment. You should be comfortable managing complex financial processes, influencing stakeholders, and ensuring high standards of accuracy and control.
  • Experience in month‑end, year‑end, financial governance and team leadership is essential.
