About this opportunity
Credit Portfolio & Policy Management is a core team within the Chief Credit Office in Risk Division, responsible for a number of key credit risk activities including the oversight of single risk types, proactive Credit, Country and ESG Risk Appetite, Credit Portfolio Management and ensuring the operational effectiveness of the CCO function.
This role provides an exciting opportunity in the Credit Portfolio Management team to support the delivery of Credit Portfolio Risk across LBG, with a focus on BCB portfolio, also support our relationship with the PRA, and develop, design and communicate all credit policies, frameworks and Credit Authority Delegations from Group and RFB. The role is an excellent stepping stone to more senior positions, and will help build stakeholder management, networks and provide close working relationships with senior credit, Business and Products colleagues. This role plays a significant part in developing our understanding and proactive response to credit portfolio performance and also supporting our relationship with the regulator.
Day to day, you will:

Support maintenance of an up-to-date, accurate, relevant and simple set of credit policies, reflective of agreed risk appetite.

Ensure continuous and robust credit policy governance and control; including RCSA management.

Develop oversight activities to support the group assess policy compliance.

Assess and challenge policy compliance reporting throughout LBG.

Supporting management of the Credit Authority Delegation (CAD) Framework.

Helping to simplify the credit policy landscape, removing duplication and aligning to Group Strategy to ensure the framework supports the codification of the Credit Policies as part of the Credit Transformation work.

Implementing, communicating and supporting embedding of credit policy and guidance to ensure they are understood and used effectively by credit and the business.

Simplifying and streamlining Policy Partner (SharePoint) to ensure end users can navigate effectively and locate the materials they require.

Supporting responses to credit information requests from stakeholders (Regulators, Board and Executives, Investor Relations and Finance) for your business areas.

Scanning the horizon for economic, regulatory and accounting issues which may impact our portfolios.

Managing, reporting and escalating changes to Credit Policy, Strategy, Appetite, Mandates and Test & Learn Programmes through a robust materiality assessment and change log process.

Desirable skills would be:

Ideally, a good level of knowledge of Credit Risk, Business/Commercial awareness, and the wider risk management framework.

A good understanding of Consumer and Commercial Credit products, portfolios and underwriting processes

A proven track record of delivering high quality outputs, articulating key information clearly and concisely for use at senior level.

A desire to build a strong knowledge of the operating model and risk landscape of the Chief Credit Office, using this to shape innovative solutions.
