Qualified Nursery Practitioner – Babies, Preschool & Wraparound Care (Term Time Only)
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic Qualified Nursery Practitioner to join our team working with children from babies through to Year 6 in our wraparound provision. The successful candidate will help provide a safe, inclusive, stimulating, and nurturing environment where children can learn, play, and develop.
This role is term time only and involves supporting children across different age groups within the setting. (Opportunity to work holiday clubs in half term)
Key Responsibilities
Provide stimulating, age-appropriate play and learning opportunities following guidance from senior staff.
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children, supervising them appropriately at all times.
Follow and implement setting policies and procedures, including recording accidents and incidents.
Maintain clean, safe toys and equipment within the learning environment.
Carry out observations of children’s development and contribute to 2 Year Progress Checks.
Plan and supervise indoor and outdoor activities that support all areas of development.
Act as a key person for a group of children.
Support snack preparation, taking into account dietary requirements, allergies, and cultural needs.
Build positive relationships with parents and carers, sharing information about children’s progress.
Support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) where required.
Provide guidance and support to students, volunteers, and work placements.
Attend parent meetings, staff meetings, supervisions, and appraisals.
Follow safeguarding procedures and report any concerns appropriately.
Work collaboratively with the wider team and provide room cover when required.
Attend training and keep up to date with good early years practice.
Qualifications & Requirements
Essential
Level 2 qualification (or working towards) in Early Years Education and Childcare or equivalent.
Willingness to undertake further training, including Safeguarding and Paediatric First Aid.
