About you…
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic professional with excellent administrative skills to support councillors throughout their term of office, ensuring smooth, effective and well‑organised democratic and civic services.
You will receive on‑the‑job training, mentoring from experienced colleagues and support to develop your knowledge of democratic processes, civic services and systems.

Working in the Democratic Services team based in our offices in Time Square is friendly, varied and genuinely rewarding. You will be part of a supportive and experienced team who work closely together to support councillors and the smooth running of local democracy. No two days are the same and you will be encouraged to be curious, learn and develop and take pride in the important role you play in serving our community.
Key responsibilities…
Providing high‑quality administrative and operational support across Democratic and Registration Services, including councillor services, civic and ceremonial functions.
Supporting councillors throughout their term of office, including development, allowances, expenses and professional queries.
Planning and delivering inclusive civic events and engagements that promote community pride and civic identity.
Maintaining accurate records, digital systems and public information to ensure transparency and statutory compliance.
Working collaboratively with colleagues, councillors and partners to support democratic projects and respond to enquiries.
Interview date
Interviews will be held on Monday 30th March.
Interviews will be conducted in person, providing candidates with the chance to personally meet the team and experience our work environment.
