Carry out comprehensive admissions for patients, highlighting any areas of concern to senior members of the Endoscopy team as appropriate. Respecting the patients right for privacy, dignity and any religious and cultural beliefs.To assist with all procedures after relevant training, developing Endoscopy scope room skills documented in their Endoscopy Training ProgrammeFollow infection control and departmental decontamination guidelines as detailed in the Trusts policiesSafely manage a group of post procedure patients in recovery from scope room to safe transfer to the patient step down lounge. Escalate concerns regarding patients post procedure outcomesSafely discharge patients with detailed post procedure information and education.To ensure care provided is evidence based and in line with the Trusts policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.Information to relatives and friends about the progress of treatment / procedures subject to the patients wishes.To liaise with clinicians, other professionals and community staff as appropriate co-ordinating and maintaining care which will achieve the set standards.To act as a second mentor and participate in teaching pre-registration students, healthcare assistants and supporting National Vocational Qualifications, as required ensuring they are given adequate supervision and support.To be required to use any computer system purchased by the Trust providing appropriate training given.To demonstrate an understanding of positive health and promote positive health. To supervise bands 4,3 and 2 within the departmentTo be responsible for the self- development of skills and competencies through participation in learning and development activities, and to maintain up to date technical and professional knowledge relevant to the post
