Crynodeb
Manage the MS SQL Database Farm which houses over 100 clinical important databases and any associated systems. To support the EPIC Cogito databases and infrastructure and provide support to Caboodle business intelligence developers via code migrations, ETL support and deployment of EPIC upgrades. To troubleshoot ETL issues and Cogito platform issues when required. Act as a training resource for developers, EPIC, and other Secure Data System support roles. Provide 3rd line support for Database Farm technical issues Help define system requirements for new developments in conjunction with clinicians, clinical analysts and project managers. Provide expert advice to other Trust system managers and the Trust in relation to procurement of high cost data systems Analyses, investigates and resolves complex IM&T queries and issues/problems including, System errors, breaches of security or confidentiality, user requirements, which may require configuration of software and hardware, unusual data trends, training requirements, based on needs analysis. Develop software which is needed to support and complement the Trusts Databases Test and research new hardware and software platforms to ascertain suitability for Trust deployment Provide expert technical documentation Demonstrate software solutions to other technical and clinical staff To act as a technical liaison person for third party suppliers. Implements ICT policies and proposes changes to improve service To troubleshoot ETL issues and Cogito platform issues when required. To deploy EPIC cogito upgrades On occasions where out-of-hours working is required to support either SQL farm or Cogito platform, the post-holder would be required to do overtime/on-call and escalate any serious problems to senior members of the team. Professional, technical and innovative skills: Ability to provide and present information ranging from simple to highly complex to an audience of any size that will contain listeners of differing levels of understanding Ability to analyse and form an opinion on solutions ranging from simple to highly complex when presented by several different suppliers Ability to accurately produce written documents relating to standards and technical specifications Stakeholder engagement the ability to engage with the local organisations and third party suppliers Resource management ability to identify resource needs Ability to work with and deliver within a fixed project timescale Willingness to roll-up the shirt sleeves and deliver Communication skills the ability to communicate clearly and effectively within the local organisation and External Suppliers. Ability to manage and undertake formal testing activities Ability to suggest and implement novel software and hardware solutions to particular clinical and non-clinical IT related issues System Support To troubleshoot SQL farm and Cogito platform issues and resolve system issues quickly and responsibly. Installation and support of Database/cogito Systems Software. Monitor the Database Farm and cogito platform, identifying any issues and respond to them appropriately. To be the key contact for 3rd party suppliers support teams. Ensure that the good relationships that Kings and GSTT has with its suppliers are maintained. Ensure that the databases and services are running efficiently and effectively. Ensure that the procedures for the management of all of the Farm servers meets the need of the system(s). Ensure that all databases are properly backed-up and the disaster recovery procedures are effective and up to date.
