Corpus Christi College are recruiting for a new Full time College Porter to join our professional and friendly team. You will be required to carry out a wide range of security, safety, administrative and front of house services. Porters are responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the porters’ lodge.
The role of a full-time porter is an important role in the college community, as the porters lodge is the first and main point of contact for enquiries from visitors, guests, students, fellows and staff. Porters are also responsible for the safety and Security of college premises and deal with fire alarms and other emergencies.
The Porter’s lodge is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. The full-time porters operate on a shift pattern of two twelve-hour shifts, working days and nights, followed by three rest days and porters are expected to work the shifts on the rota basis.
The successful candidate will be a strong team player, customer focused with a friendly and welcoming manner, excellent communication skills and attention to detail. They will also need the ability to deal with difficult situations calmly and efficiently.
