Crynodeb
Insight Analysts provide the technical expertise to transform data into insight, empowering the Council to make evidence-led decisions, conduct needs assessments, assist with statutory returns to government, and provide accessible statistics via the Kingston Data website.
This is a high-impact role primarily focused on data on young people and their participation in education, employment, and training, fulfilling the Council’s statutory duties under the Education & Skills Act. You will support the collection, cleansing, processing and upload of large, complex and often messy data sets, and use a range of applications linked to a Client Caseload Information System (CCIS).
You will need to communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and external partners, and provide system support, data quality assurance to national standards (NCCIS), and timely and accurate reporting of service performance to stakeholders.

We are looking for a diligent and positive person to join our close-knit team. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently to meet deadlines and will also be a strong team player who is happy to support colleagues and partners when required. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, and a meticulous approach to data analysis are vital to this role.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Experience in data analytics (local government experience desirable)
Knowledge of and proficiency in business systems and software applications that support data collection and analysis and a high standard of ICT literacy - Excel/Google Sheets, Data governance, management and security
Experience cleansing and processing large data sets to defined standards
Experience supporting projects and delivering identified outcomes to deadlines

The Chief Executive’s Department brings together key council functions such as Transformation, Communications, Engagement, Insight and Performance at the heart of the council.
Within this department, the Insight, Strategy and Performance Service plays an important strategic role in ensuring the Council is informed by insight to understand where change is needed, and how strategic priorities can best be achieved. The service plays a critical part in strengthening the Council’s planning, governance, and improvement frameworks to ensure they support delivery of the Council Plan and the Medium Term Financial Strategy.
Our service works across multiple disciplines, collaborating with colleagues, councillors, senior leadership, partners and other external stakeholders.
The Insight & Data Team provides an information and data analytics function for the whole Council. Our local authority is passionate about evidence led service design and transformation and the team has a key role to play in that. The range of services accessing our team ensures that we have a varied, stimulating portfolio of projects.
