About the RoleNextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for a compassionate and dedicated Supply Special Needs Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming specialist school based in BD16. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone, looking for flexible hours, passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs and making a meaningful difference in their educational journey.

The school caters for pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including autism, communication difficulties, SEMH and learning disabilities. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and the wider support team to help pupils access learning in a safe, nurturing, and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with special educational needs
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
- Support pupils with communication, social development, and emotional regulation
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies
- Support pupils with personal care where required
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and SEN staff

Requirements
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is desirable
- A caring, patient, and resilient approach to working with pupils with additional needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or SEN support are advantageous but not essential
- The right to work in the UK
- An enhanced Child and Adult DBS on the update service (or willingness to complete one)
- The ability to provide 24 months of professional references
