Job Title: SEN Student Support Specialist (Supply)

About the RoleNextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for a SEN Student Support Specialist to work on a supply basis at a welcoming specialist school located in BD22. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs and are looking for flexible work within a rewarding educational environment.
The specialist school supports pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including autism, communication needs, and complex learning difficulties. As a supply support specialist, you will work closely with teachers and the wider support team to help students access learning and develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and small group support to pupils with special educational needs
- Assist the class teacher in delivering adapted learning activities and interventions
- Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social development
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
- Follow individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies
- Encourage independence and engagement in both academic and social activities
Requirements
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN is desirable
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their potential
