Summary

We are embarking on an ambitious digital transformation at Gedling Borough Council, and you’ll be joining us at a pivotal moment. As we implement our new HRMS (Human Resources Management System), you will play a central role in shaping how we streamline, connect, and enhance the entire employee lifecycle through real time, data driven technology.

We need someone who loves solving problems, improving processes, and using data to make work better for everyone. If you enjoy leading people, shaping digital HR solutions, and delivering meaningful change, this role is for you.

What you’ll be doing
• Leading a small team to deliver excellent HR support and data services.
• Assisting the HR Manager with ownership of the HRMS—ensuring it runs smoothly, produces great insights, and evolves with our needs.
• Delivering user training that genuinely improves the employee experience.
• Designing smarter HR processes that save time and improve accuracy.
• Turning data into stories—helping managers understand trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Influencing stakeholders and guiding them through change with confidence.
• Managing priorities with clarity, structure, and a calm approach.

What you’ll bring
• Experience managing people in an HR setting.
• Strong HR systems knowledge and confidence working with dashboards, reports, and data exports.
• Experience delivering HR system projects or process improvement initiatives.
• A passion for digital tools and exploring new ways of working.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to challenge constructively.
• Strong organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to analyse both numbers and narrative to produce meaningful insights.

Qualifications
• GCSEs (grade C or above) including Maths and English.
• Training in HR systems, employment legislation, and data protection.
• Confident user of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Desirable experience
• CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of ResoureLink/ Zellis Air & Cloud HCM
