Crynodeb
This is an exciting role that will allow you to work in an acute clinical environment whilst learning and developing skills that will allow you to progress into a nurse practitioner role should the opportunity arise and you have demonstrated sufficient competence. Please note this post will not automatically guarantee an Acute Intervention Team Nurse Practitioner post but will provide you with sufficient knowledge and experience to apply if a post became available. The 36hr post will be split to ensure that the post holder has a wide breath of experience. Your main clinical post (18hrs) will be in the DMH Acute Medical Unit where you will be required to assess, monitor and treat patients with a wide range of conditions in a fast paced environment. You will be required to work effectively as a team, demonstrate good communication skills and be aware of your own limitations. The remaining 18 hours will be split between the Cardiac Arrest Prevention (CAP) Team and the Acute Intervention Team (AIT) whereby you will spend one supernumerary shift per week alongside the AI Team to learn and understand the nurse practitioner role. Your time with the cardiac arrest prevention team will be to undertake teaching on life support courses to enable you to build experience with education and training to all clinical staff. The role would suit any registered nurse, who has an interest in acute care and teaching.
