We have an exciting opportunity for an holistic support advisor to join our Supported Living team in Redcar.
You will accept referrals, manage a caseload of customers, and provide intensive interventions, harm reduction support, and information, advice and guidance. Your work will focus on engaging and supporting people with complex support and housing needs, including those who are former street homeless, empowering them to sustain their tenancy and engage with a range of internal and external support services across Redcar.
You will assist and empower customers to access various statutory and voluntary services to improve their circumstances and sustain their tenancy, through home/community visiting and developing a robust risk and support plan to enable customers to independence.
This demanding but rewarding role requires a driven person with a sound knowledge of medical and referral pathways. You'll need to be excellent at problem solving and be able to communicate effectively with customers when responding to a crisis. You'll also need to be a confidant communicator with your peers and other support professionals in the statutory sector and third/voluntary sector.
The right candidate will be confident, approachable and knowledgeable, with a calm and unflappable attitude and the ability to take control of a situation and empower customers towards independence. Ideally you will have a sound understanding of a Trauma Informed Approach, safeguarding and mental capacity.
As part of this role proactively supporting customers with complex support needs you will be required to provide regular out-of-hours planned and responsive support.
This role forms part of our dedicated Supported Living team within the housing department, which provides a wide range of support services designed to enable our customers to live independently. If you feel you have the skills and passion to join us, we'd love to hear from you.
This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check, and we are committed to Safer Recruitment practices to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the people we support. Suitability to work with young adults and vulnerable adults will be assessed during the interview process and through references, and you will be required to complete a self-declaration form as part of the application process.
Internal candidates must discuss a secondment with their line manager before applying for this role.
Kevin Bradshaw is our Supported Living Manager, so if you fancy a chat to find out more about the amazing work our Supported Living team does, give him a call on 07896 715194.
Closing date for applications is 5pm Tuesday 31 March 2026, applications will be reviewed throughout the duration of the advert and we may close it early should enough applications be received. We are not working with recruitment agencies on this vacancy.
Interviews are scheduled to be held on Friday 17 April & Monday 20 April 2026.
