Summary
Catering Manager – Retreat Centre Kitchen
Location: Hafan Ogwen / Snowdonia Mountain Lodge, Eryri (Snowdonia)
Contract: Part-time – 2 days per week + retreat weekends (rota dependent)
Season: March – November

We are looking for an organised and reliable Catering Manager to oversee kitchen operations at Hafan Ogwen / Snowdonia Mountain Lodge, a retreat centre hosting yoga, meditation and wellbeing retreats in Eryri.
The role supports a busy programme of retreats and community catering, typically serving 30–60 people. You will help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly, staffing rotas are organised, and high standards of hygiene and organisation are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and manage rotas for cooks and kitchen support staff
Ensure all retreat shifts are fully staffed and manage cover if needed
Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen environment
Ensure food hygiene, safety procedures and required records are maintained
Check kitchen equipment and liaise with maintenance when needed
Help maintain a welcoming and well-presented dining area
Train and induct new kitchen staff in hygiene, safety and kitchen procedures
During busy retreat weekends you may also assist with veg preparation or washing up when required.
Person Specification
Essential
Strong organisational and rota planning skills
Knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety standards
Good communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and maintain high standards
Weekend availability during retreat season
Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 minimum)
Desirable
Experience in hospitality, retreat centres or large-scale catering
Knowledge or experience of vegetarian cooking
