Job Description
Working hours: 9:30-16:30
Responsible to: Nursery Manager
Main purpose of the role:
To be responsible for the management of Little Ozzies Ltd Nursery kitchen, the planning, organising, preparing and delivering Nursery meals/snacks in accordance with the Nursery menus, food policies and individual dietary requirements. To be a good role model to the children and delivering cooking lessons, as of when required e.g bread making.
Key Responsibilities
Planning and preparation of food to provide meals/snacks in accordance with Little Ozzies Ltd health menus and food policies.
Maintaining all working documents, including policies and legal requirements from the Food Standards Agency.
Catering for all individual dietary requirements in line with parental guidance.
Maintaining the highest standards of Health and Safety, which apply to children, colleagues, parents and visitors, maintaining a safe and secure environment.
Ensure hygiene and cleanliness within the kitchen is of the highest standard in accordance with Environmental Health requirements and legislation.
Maintain necessary kitchen procedures and records in accordance with Little Ozzies Ltd and Environmental Health policies and processes.
To undertake future and refresher training as appropriate.
Responsible for control, storage and rotation of kitchen stock.
Order food in line with Little Ozzies Ltd policies and within specified budget.
To contribute to the team effort of the nursery and to attend staff meetings as and when required.
Liaise with the Nursery Manager on the ordering of necessary kitchen equipment.
To deliver cooking lessons to the children in accordance with the curriculum.
To undertake any other reasonable catering duties as requested by the Nursery Manager

Qualifications & Experience
Essential Criteria
Food and Hygiene level 2
Food and Hygiene level 3 or a commitment to doing so,
Desired Criteria
Experience in a Nursery or school kitchen.
Knowledge
Essential Criteria
Excellent knowledge and understanding of the current legislations in Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Food Standards Agency
Skills and Abilities
Essential Criteria
To communicate effectively through written and verbal communication

IT skills
