What skills and experience we're looking for

To start as soon as possible, we are looking to appoint a Catering Manager to lead in the ordering, receiving, preparing, and cooking of all meals. These include till work, stock replenishment, budgeting, pricing and maintaining our 5-star FSA hygiene rating. Very importantly, we wish to appoint someone who works well in a team, is flexible, adaptable and can work under pressure without losing their all-important sense of humour. Full training will be provided as appropriate.

What the school offers its staff

“A mindbogglingly good, state comprehensive. Proving that consistent, well-managed, well-resourced, well-delivered and kind education for all can, and does, make a difference to a community.” (The Good Schools Guide, 2025)

All King’s School support staff are eligible to join the Local Government Pension Scheme, which is a defined benefit scheme, under which the school contributes 16.4% (From 1st April 2026) of an individual’s salary.

The King's School is an 11-18 comprehensive school, which takes great pride in the promotion of excellence in teaching and learning, pastoral care and extra-curricular activities. Our core purpose of 'Achievement for All' encourages every student to develop their skills, interests and talents, not just through academic achievement but also through a rich variety of enrichment opportunities including house competitions, extra-curricular clubs, trips and visits.
