Support Worker - Nights

Pay rate: £14.50 per hour - weekly and monthly pay is available
Shift pattern:TBC

We are looking for calm, reliable and confident Night Support Workers to join a small, consistent 2:1 team supporting an adult male who lives independently in his own property. He has a brain injury and uses a wheelchair, requiring full personal care, moving and handling, and hoist support.

Night shifts focus on safety, reassurance and helping him maintain a peaceful, structured night‑time routine.

A bit about him

He is a friendly and engaging individual who appreciates predictability and clear communication. He has some reduced cognitive understanding but has capacity and is able to express his needs and preferences clearly.

At times, he may express frustration verbally — usually linked to changes in routine or when feeling unsettled. With calm, steady and patient support, he responds well and becomes reassured quickly.

He values a consistent night team who help him feel safe, comfortable and respected.

What you’ll be doing

As a Night Support Worker, you will help him feel secure throughout the night and support him with:

  • Personal care as needed during the night
  • Safe moving and handling, including hoist use
  • Monitoring his wellbeing and responding promptly if he wakes or needs reassurance
  • Supporting his night‑time routine in a calm, predictable way
  • Completing quiet household tasks to help maintain an organised environment
  • Documenting support provided and any changes in presentation

Your presence helps him sleep well, feel reassured and wake ready for a positive day.

Who we’re looking for

We’d love to hear from Night Support Workers who:

  • Have experience in personal care and safe hoisting/moving & handling
  • Are confident supporting adults with brain injuries or similar needs
  • Can remain calm, patient and reassuring if he becomes unsettled
  • Communicate clearly and maintain professional boundaries
  • Are reliable, compassionate, and able to work independently at night
  • Bring a steady presence that promotes safety, dignity and comfort

This is a meaningful night‑time role where your support directly enhances his quality of life.
