We are looking for a teaching assistant to join our wonderful team here at St Mary’s. This is an exciting opportunity for those who are enthusiastic about supporting children in their learning and with their emotional wellbeing. This role could involve working with a class, groups of children and/or 1:1 with a child who has additional needs.
We are looking for people who:
• Are enthusiastic about learning and understand how children learn
• Are able to work with children with a range of special educational needs
• Have the ability to use intuition and work independently where necessary
• Have the ability to adapt resources/materials to meet the needs of the learner
• Can work as part of a team

We would be particularly interested in graduates who are considering a career in teaching but would like to gain school experience first and/or staff with experience of working with children on the Autistic Spectrum and/or with Learning Difficulties. However, this is not essential as long as applicants have enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
We can offer a supportive working environment where every member of staff is committed to ensuring the best learning opportunities for all children within a caring community.
The successful candidates must meet the requirements of the person specifications in order to be offered the post and will be subject to enhanced DBS checks.
We welcome applications regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or religion.
Only applications submitted on the school’s application form will be considered.
