GRADE: Support Grade 8 £32,597 - £35, 412 (£24,627 - £26,754 pro rata)
CONTRACT: 32.5 hours per week, Term Time only plus INETs (FTC Until 31.08.2026)
REPORTS TO: Lead of the Olympus Development Hub
We are seeking a committed, skilled and compassionate colleague to join the Olympus Development Hub (ODH) as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) on a temporary basis until 31 August. This is a full time role offering the opportunity to make a real difference to young people facing barriers to engagement in their mainstream setting.
The ODH provides short term, high quality academic and pastoral support for students across the trust, combining core learning, personalised intervention, and strong partnership working with home schools and families.

About the Role
As an HLTA at ODH, you will play a vital part in supporting students with a range of social, emotional, behavioural and learning needs. Working closely with teachers, pastoral colleagues, and partner schools, you will:
• Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions to support learning, behaviour, and personal development.
• Support the delivery of structured core lessons, including PHSE and personal development activities.
• Implement effective strategies for de escalation, positive behaviour, and re engagement.
• Maintain accurate records of interventions, progress and behaviour using trust systems.
• Liaise with families to ensure consistent support between home and provision.
• Contribute to the creation of a nurturing, safe and structured environment where students can thrive.
• Support safeguarding processes and act as an initial point of contact for student concerns in the teacher’s absence.
• Assist with the smooth day to day running of ODH classrooms, ensuring resources and routines are well organised.
This role is central to enabling successful short term intervention and supporting students with their reintegration back into a mainstream setting.

Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for a colleague with:
Essential:
• Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a school or alternative provision (AP) environment.
• Strong skills in delivering effective interventions, both academically and behaviourally.
• A clear understanding of safeguarding, child protection and risk management.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and families.
• Confidence using ICT systems for reporting and record keeping.
Desirable:
• A relevant TA/HLTA qualification.
• Experience delivering PHSE or personal development content.
• Additional training in behaviour management, SEMH support, or inclusion.
Mandatory training includes Emergency First Aid and Safeguarding Level 2.
