Pay rate: - £12.36 p/hr (initial for 12 weeks) and then £13.25 p/hr
DBS: Basic DBS Check Required
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Administrative Officer to join our team within the public sector. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys problem‑solving, and is committed to delivering excellent service. You will provide essential administrative support to ensure the smooth and efficient running of day‑to‑day operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Main role responsibility will be to contact Magistrates for availability for Court sittings and coordinate and confirm Magistrate sitting rotas
- Deliver general administrative support, including managing correspondence, maintaining records, data entry, and preparing documents.
- Provide excellent customer service with clear and professional communication.
- Support colleagues and managers by coordinating meetings, taking minutes, and assisting with scheduling and generic email inbox queries.
- Handle enquiries from internal teams and the public with confidence, clarity, and problem‑solving initiative.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, data protection guidelines, and public sector standards.
- Contribute to improving administrative processes and supporting wider team objectives.
About You
- We are looking for someone who is Organised and detail‑focused, able to prioritise workload effectively
- A strong communicator, both written and verbal.
- A proactive problem‑solver, comfortable taking initiative when challenges arise.
- Professional and reliable, with a strong understanding of confidentiality.
- Confident working with IT systems, including Microsoft Office applications. Experienced in customer‑facing or public sector environments (desirable but not essential).
Requirements
- Willingness to undergo a Basic DBS check prior to employment.
