Duties and opportunities Undertake clinical assessment of patients with mental health problems: Patient will be seen, in hospital or in clinics, in their homes. As part of your duty you will ensure that all patients are fully assessed, including an assessment of their physical state. You will maintain accurate, legible, contemporaneous and useful clinical records for all patients in whose care you are involved. You will ensure that the diagnosis and risk assessment is entered / updated for all clients that you meet. Use the results of the clinical assessment to ensure effective patient management: Under the supervision of a clinical supervisor, you will prescribe pharmacological and psychosocial treatments for the patients that you are working with. You will refer them promptly to other professionals as directed by your clinical supervisors. Manage emergencies: Emergency assessments will happen ad hoc, and most likely happen when a team doctor is unavailable. When attending calls, you will respond to requests for advice, guidance and assistance from nursing staff and provide the first medical response to psychiatric emergencies. Senior support is available from the team consultant and other senior doctors with the team.
