More detail about the role Our accredited, fully digital centre are looking to expand the team due to our growing Medical Imaging department. You will work across the X-ray modality in; the Emergency Department, In-patients, Orthopaedic out-patients, Theatre and Portables, and the Devon Diagnostic Centre at Exeters Nightingale Hospital CDC. There will be potential future opportunities to rotate through Fluoroscopy, Bone Density (DXA) Scanning, Cross-sectional imaging and our Community sites. This is truly a varied and interesting role where your input can add value to our patient journey and be part of our friendly team. Why choose us? You will be provided with a named Preceptor and a peer buddy, and will benefit from a 16-week induction period where you are supernumery before you work independently and start on your out of hours rotation. Our core commitment to supporting professional development is demonstrated in our growing number of Reporting Radiographers who support Axial & Appendicular MSK, Chest, DXA, CT Colon, CT & MRI Head reporting. We are also delighted to be delivering a rolling programme of sonographer training, now in its 6th year and have 2 Advanced Clinical Practitioners in MSK and Interventional Ultrasound. The department continues to support other post graduate education and has recently financed a PhD and MSc studies for staff. We are also investing in future Radiographers, in conjunction with the University of Exeter we continue to recruit Undergraduate Degree Apprenticeship Radiographers as well as Apprentices studying on the MSc Apprenticeship course each year. We have proudly been an accredited centre under the UKAS Quality Standards for Imaging (QSI) Accreditation Scheme for over 10 years, and have demonstrated a commitment to continued quality improvement for patients and staff. The department opens from 8am until 8pm 7 days a week, with 24hour services for A&E and wards. We operate an on call system and a shift pattern, and successful applicants will participate fully in these. About you As you build your confidence in your abilities as a Band 5 Radiographer, you will strive to deliver the highest standards of patient care whilst demonstrating our Trust values of being compassionate, inclusive, open and honest in all that you do. The successful candidate will be flexible, adaptable and have experience of a broad range of general x-ray examinations and adaptive technique as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Opportunities are available to the successful applicants to undertake Assistant Practitioner roles within the team prior to qualification and receipt of your HCPC registration.
