Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Maths Lecturer to join a forward-thinking college in South East London on a long-term temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire and support learners studying Mathematics across a range of programmes.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality teaching across Maths courses (e.g., GCSE Maths, Functional Skills, and A-Level Mathematics where applicable)

Plan engaging lessons aligned with curriculum and awarding body requirements

Prepare learners for exams, assessments, and real-world applications of mathematics

Assess, mark, and provide constructive feedback on learner work

Support learners' academic progress and confidence in mathematics

Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and assessment

Contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance processes

Embed problem-solving skills and real-life mathematical applications into teaching
Requirements

Relevant qualification in Mathematics or a related field (Degree preferred)

Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one

Experience teaching Maths in a Further Education or similar educational setting

Strong subject knowledge and ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly

Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills

Ability to engage and motivate learners at varying levels
