Crynodeb

We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Worker to join our service at Whistley Dene in Potterne. We support six people with learning disabilities in their own home.

Whistley Dene is in a rural setting and is surrounded by beautiful countryside, so having access to transport is essential. You will also need to have a valid, full UK driving licence and be willing to drive the house vehicle to support the people that live in Whistley Dene to access their communities.

We are looking for someone who is able to offer support out and about, supporting people to go out for a coffee, shopping, watching Swindon Town play football, ten pin bowling, listening to music, going to the cinema; all aspects of everyday life.

You might be new to Social Care and have life experiences and a variety of skills and abilities which will benefit the people who live at Whistley Dene. We will be committed to ensuring you have the training and mentoring required with the induction into this role. Hours are worked on a shift rota pattern and will include some weekends, evenings and bank holidays.

Shift patterns are:

07.00-14.00
14.00-21.00
07.00-21.00
Sleep-in: 21.00-07.00

We work closely with families, health professionals and our social care colleagues to provide support which is led by the individual. The people who live at Whistley Dene are looking for someone of a caring and tolerant nature who can provide support through a person centred approach.

The successful Support Worker will be:

Energetic
Enthusiastic
A good communicator
Creative
Willing to learn new skills
Wanting to make a difference
Empathic
Able to work as part of a team and all work in the same way to provide continuity

At Milestones Trust we recognise that without the hard work, commitment and passion of our staff, we wouldn’t be the charity that we are today. In return, we are committed to rewarding you with a competitive pay and benefits package including:

- 30 days’ annual leave, including recognised public holidays
- Learning and development to support your career growth
- Nationally recognised qualifications, from entry‑level care to management
- Flexible working, with rotas provided in advance
- Occupational Sick Pay after two years, increasing with service
- Health Cash Plan after probation, offering at least £695 cashback for health treatments (dental, optical, therapies, maternity/paternity, prescriptions)
- Enhanced maternity and paternity pay
- Free enhanced DBS check
- Dayforce Wallet, giving you access to your earnings before payday
- Employee referral scheme with financial rewards
- Employee Assistance Programme from day one, offering confidential 24/7 support
- Company pension scheme to help grow your retirement savings

For an informal discussion about the job role please contact Daniel Ngomoli, Service Manager or Ioana Paleanu, Service Coordinator on 01380721913.
