As a Cancer Admissions and Triage CNS you would be involved in;Acting as a resource to patients and healthcare colleagues who contact the hospital via the oncology triage line.Triaging oncology patients using the UKONS proforma, offering appropriate evidence based advice to those patients and healthcare colleagueswhere possible to minimise the need for hospital based assessment and admission.Maintaining a telephone review clinic for all cycle 1 chemotherapy patients to make an early assessment of complications related to treatment andencourage appropriate self-management or arrange day case assessment.Maintain databases designed to record telephone clinics to allow appropriate coding and allow funding streams to be accurate.Facilitating patient flow 7 days a week to ensure appropriate places of care for inpatients (reducing outlying bed usage) and direct non- admissionassessments.
