We are currently seeking a dedicated Laboratory Support Assistant to join our team in a fast-paced, essential manufacturing and quality environment.
What You'll Be DoingIn this role, you will be a vital part of the laboratory ecosystem, ensuring that scientists and technicians have the sterile equipment and supplies they need to succeed. Your key responsibilities will include:

Loading and unloading laboratory autoclaves and managing the disposal of microbiological and hazardous waste according to strict safety guidelines.

Segregating waste streams, cleaning reusable autoclave bins, and ensuring all laboratory glassware is washed thoroughly by hand or dishwasher.

Resupplying and ordering essential consumables, preparing stock plates and media, and ensuring laboratory personnel receive weekly supplies like agar plates and Petri dishes.

Assisting with the maintenance of stock cultures, providing support for the Curator, and maintaining the laundry for all laboratories.

Ensuring all processes follow Quality Systems and Health & Safety policies, while proactively alerting management to any equipment faults or potential process failures.

Effective planning skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

Ability to communicate openly and build collaborative, trusting relationships across different functions.

A flexible approach with an aptitude for multitasking in a busy environment.
