A full-time, permanent Project Worker in a well-established young person’s Supported Accommodation service in Neath. You will be working day shifts mostly on rota from Monday to Friday - with some time flexibility required within the needs of the project and clients.

About the role

This is a Project Worker role based in our Young Persons Supported accommodation service, Clarewood, Neath. Working in a small team, you will provide support to a range of young people age 16-25 who are homeless with complex needs, and aim to gain independence. You will act as a first point of contact and a role model. You will build positive relationships by helping our young people transition into independent living.

As a Project Worker, you will coordinate the support for approximately 10 service users to develop the key skills to achieve positive progression and to develop the skills to re-settle in the community. Project workers are expected to lead each shift, and to direct the work of scheme support officers.

Day to day duties:

Co-ordinate, maintain and regularly update individual client support plans
Provide practical, emotional support to residents, responding to changing needs
Support the delivery of workshops on tenancy and financial management, health and wellbeing
Co-ordinate Gateway client referrals and complete assessments and allocations, move in’s and move outs
Carry out welfare checks and ensure compliance with health, safety and fire regulations
Organise and support activities that promote independent living skills and community engagement
Support residents to apply for and move on to appropriate permanent accommodation
Work in partnership with funders, local authorities, social services and support agencies
Maintain accurate records and complete required administrative tasks
Deputise during periods for Manager when on annual leave

Skills and Experience Needed -

Ability to lead, co-ordinate work, delegate work to others and work with resilience
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and support individuals
IT literate with experience using digital record-keeping or support systems
Experience delivering workshops or group activities
Ability to work collaboratively with external agencies and partners
Organised with good administrative and record-keeping skills
Driving Licence and access to a car
