Job Location: Poole, Dorset

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Thursday 7.30am – 4.00pm & Friday 7.30am – 1.00pm

Salary: excellent starting salary

A successful and growing manufacturing company based at Tower Park is seeking a Buyer to join their team.

The company have been established for over 30 years and have grown to be a very well respected and go to partner for many companies within the Aerospace, Medical, Automotive and Entertainment industries.

Your role will see you liaising with suppliers, sourcing new suppliers, obtaining quotes, progress chasing, buying parts and materials.

You will be working within a small team to ensure the effective and timely supply of parts & materials into manufacturing to be able to build customer products on time and to a very high standard.

Some of your duties will include:

• Being the main point of contact for all procurement and material queries.
• Liaising with suppliers via includes emails, phone calls and face-to-face meetings to build strong relationships.
• Sending out manufacturing build requirements and drawings to suppliers and subcontractors
• Negotiating and agreeing terms
• Reviewing quotations and tenders
• Buying parts and materials as per demand from the MRP system
• Liaising with suppliers regarding late deliveries and shortages
• Undertake regular reviews of all suppliers
• Liaising with stakeholders regarding any changes in pricing, order delays, push backs, requests ramp ups or manufacturing changes.

We would like our ideal candidates to possess:

• Previous purchasing / buying / supply chain / procurement experience
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
• The ability to be an excellent team player who can also work alone using their own initiative.
• Excellent prioritisation skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
• Good PC skills – knowledge of Microsoft programmes including Excel & Outlook.
