We are looking for an Assistant Merchandiser to join the RSPB Commercial Team. This role is ideal for someone currently working as an Assistant Merchandiser or Merchandising Assistant whois ready to take the next step in their merchandising career while contributing to the RSPB’s mission to protect nature. This is an exciting opportunity to work for the largest wildlife conservation organisation in Europe and play a part in supportingour work to protect nature and the environment. Working as part of a small team, you will support the merchandising team in planning and managing stock to ensure the right productsare available at the right time and in the right quantities. The role plays an important part in helping to achieve sales targets,maintain effective stock levels and support overall commercial performance. The role involves regular analysis of sales and stock data to support merchandising decisions and ensure stock is managedefficiently across the retail operation. Key Responsibilities • Assist with sales, stock, and intake analysis to support trading decisions• Help maintain accurate forecasts and replenishment plans• Monitor stock levels and highlight risks of overstock or shortages• Take ownership of store allocations, ensuring efficient inventory levels and strong sell-through• Assist in preparing weekly and seasonal performance reports• Update and maintain merchandising systems and reports• Support the creation and management of the promotions programme• Work closely with the Product team, Stock Controller, and Retail teams• Support the team with ad-hoc analysis and administrative tasks Essential Criteria • Experience working as an Assistant Merchandiser or an established Merchandising Assistant• Knowledge of retail merchandising processes including range planning, stock management and the retail product lifecycle• Able to analyse sales and stock data to identify trends and support trading decisions and forecasting• Able to use Microsoft Excel to analyse data, including creating and interpreting pivot tables and formulas• Able to maintain accuracy when working with merchandising systems and large datasets• Able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise workload during busy trading periods• Able to communicate data insights clearly with internal teams to support commercial decision-making• Able to adapt to changing priorities and contribute to team tasks within a retail trading environment Additional Information This is a 6 Months Fixed-Term, Full-Time role for 37.5 hours per week, remote/home based with a requirement to travel to our HQ in Sandy, Bedfordshire approximately once a month minimum. The RSPB reserves the right to extend or make this role permanent without further advertising dependent on business needs at the end of the contract term.
