In this full-time role, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the provision of support for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), ensuring they are provided with the necessary resources and interventions to reach their full potential.

As the SENCo, you will be instrumental in creating and implementing a comprehensive, inclusive, and nurturing environment that caters to the diverse learning needs of our students. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to develop and oversee individualised education plans, coordinate the delivery of specialist support, and monitor the progress of SEND students.
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the school's SEND provision, ensuring it aligns with the institution's vision and national guidelines.
- Coordinate the assessment, identification, and support of students with SEND, working closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to develop and implement appropriate interventions.
- Oversee the management and deployment of teaching assistants and other SEND-related staff, ensuring they are well-trained and effectively supporting students.
- Maintain detailed records and documentation related to SEND provision, including individual education plans, progress reports, and funding applications.
- Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals, such as educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, and occupational therapists, to ensure a collaborative and holistic approach to student support.
- Contribute to the development and review of the school's SEND policy, ensuring it reflects best practices and meets the needs of the school community.
- Provide training and support to teaching staff, promoting a whole-school approach to inclusive education and the development of strategies to support students with SEND.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEND provision, making data-driven decisions to continuously improve the support offered to students.
- Manage the SEND budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and in line with the school's strategic priorities.
- Represent the school at external meetings, forums, and events related to SEND, advocating for the needs of the school's students and families.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification recognised in the UK.
- Substantial experience as a classroom teacher, with a strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and the diverse learning needs of students.
- A recognised postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs or a related field, such as a National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCo).
- Proven track record of successful leadership and management experience in a SEND-focused role, preferably within a school setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with students, parents, and a range of professionals.
- Thorough knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, relevant legislation, and best practices in SEND provision.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and a desire to stay up-to-date with the latest research and developments in the field of SEND.

This is a full-time position with a competitive salary based on the Main Pay Scale (MPS) plus a SEN allowance, which equates to approximately £180 - £230+ per day. Our client also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
- Generous holiday entitlement
- Contributory pension scheme
- Opportunities for professional development and career progression
- Access to a range of health and wellbeing initiatives
