Are you a Support Worker looking to move into education?
We are recruiting Children's Support Workers / Learning Support Assistants to work within specialist ALN schools in Cardiff supporting pupils with:
- Profound & Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Severe & complex learning needs
- Physical disabilities & mobility needs
- Medical needs (including epilepsy & feeding support)
- Sensory processing needs
- Personal Care
We're working closely with three specialist settings in Cardiff who have trusted us to support their recruitment ahead of their September intake. There are multiple roles across the three settings and will be done in phases. Which is why there are roles starting ASAP and September!
This role is ideal if you have worked as:
- Residential Support Worker
- Learning Disability Support Worker
- Healthcare Assistant
- Complex Care Support Worker
- Behaviour Support Worker
- Mental Health Support Worker
- Care Assistant (supporting complex needs)
Previous school experience is not required. Transfer all your experience, skills and qualifications from adult support into school!
What you will be doing (some of but not all!)
- Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small specialist classes
- Assisting with personal care (toileting, feeding, hygiene)
- Supporting medical and mobility needs (training provided)
- Providing sensory regulation and emotional support
- Working closely with teachers, therapists and SEN teams
- Building consistent, trusting relationships
This is a practical, hands-on support role within specialist education. What matters most is that your proactive, patient and caring!
