Summary
Drainage Engineer – Field Based
Location: London & South East
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
We are currently seeking an experienced and customer-focused Drainage Engineer to join a growing team in a field-based, client-facing role covering London and the South East. This role involves attending both domestic and commercial properties to diagnose and resolve drainage issues while delivering a high standard of service and professionalism on-site.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend both emergency and scheduled drainage call-outs
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve drainage issues using CCTV surveys, high-pressure water jetting, rods, and other specialist equipment
- Carry out drain clearance, descaling, root cutting, patch lining, and minor excavation work
- Communicate directly with customers to explain issues and recommended solutions
- Identify opportunities for additional remedial work where appropriate
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety procedures at all times
- Maintain high service standards and contribute positively to the company’s reputation
- Participate in an on-call rota to support 24/7 service delivery
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ drainage experience (essential)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- HPWJ certification preferred
- Plumbing knowledge and/or drainage tanker experience (desirable)
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- CSCS card preferred
- Comfortable using mobile devices and job management apps on-site
Compliance
- Candidates must be willing to undergo Drug & Alcohol (D&A) testing in line with company and client requirements
- A DBS check may be required due to the nature of work at certain sites
