Come and join one of the UK's largest independent providers in neuro and mental healthcare. We proudly employ over 4000+ people - no matter what your experience, we have jobs for everyone.
Active Care Group is one of the UK's leading providers of specialist care and support for adults and young people with complex needs. Our focus is on delivering truly person-centred, recovery-focused care, underpinned by clinical excellence, compassion, and continuous improvement. We are committed to supporting our clinicians through high-quality supervision, ongoing professional development, and a positive, inclusive working culture where occupational therapy is valued.
We are recruiting a dedicated and motivated Senior Occupational Therapist to join our established therapy team at Holybourne Hospital on a 12-month fixed-term contract commencing March 2026.
This role offers mental health OTs the opportunity to practise in a dynamic inpatient setting across our Acute Wards, with the added opportunity to shape and influence occupational therapy provision within our new Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), opening later in 2026. You will work with individuals experiencing a wide range of complex and acute mental health presentations, using occupational formulation to inform meaningful, recovery-oriented interventions.
As a valued member of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT), you will play a central role in assessment, care planning, and therapeutic delivery, ensuring occupation remains at the heart of recovery. You will contribute actively to ward rounds and MDT meetings, advocating for functional goals, promoting independence, and supporting patients to rebuild roles, routines, and identity.
This is an excellent opportunity for a mental health OT who is passionate about recovery-focused practice, values collaborative working, and wants to contribute to the ongoing development of occupational therapy within an evolving inpatient service.
The role:
This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, fixed term for 12 months from March 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a complex caseload autonomously, completing assessments and delivering evidence-based individual and group interventions.
Develop and review person-centred treatment plans that promote recovery and functional independence.
Provide clear written and verbal reports to the MDT and contribute to ward rounds and care reviews.
Provide supervision and support to junior staff, assistants, and students.
Contribute to service development, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
Maintain professional and legal accountability for own practice.
Adhere to relevant professional standards, safeguarding responsibilities, and organisational policies.
Engage in continuous professional development and mandatory training.
