About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to support a lady in her 40s with complex needs living in her family home. After spending six years in a hospital setting, she is now home with her three children and large, religious family.

The ideal candidate will be more than just a carer; we are looking for someone to become an extension of the family. Our client enjoys being around the buzz of the kitchen during cooking, spending time outdoors, and the company of other women. She communicates primarily via text in Punjabi and has basic English; therefore, patience and a desire to build a meaningful relationship are essential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Tracheostomy care, oxygen therapy, and deep/hyper suctioning.

  • Use of cough assist machines and salivation management.

  • Manual evacuation and regular bowel care (this is a significant part of the role).

  • Safe use of a ceiling hoist for transfers.

  • Accompanying the client outdoors and supporting her integration back into family life.

You'll receive full training and undertake 48 hours of shadow shifts at Putney Hospital to ensure you feel confident and well-prepared before the home care commences.

Key Requirements
  • Tracheostomy and Manual Evacuation.

  • Knowledge of Punjabi is a significant advantage but not essential.

  • Comfort working within a religious, family-oriented household.

  • Minimum 6 months of professional UK care experience.

  • Right to work in the UK and an Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).

How to Apply

To apply, please submit your most up-to-date CV. If your application is successful, a member of our Recruitment Team will be in touch to learn more about your experience, interests, and suitability for the role.
