The Oxfordshire Community Childrens Nursing Team delivers essential care and support to children and young people from birth to 18 years with complex health needs across the county. Our caseload includes children with a wide range of chronic and acute conditions who require specialist interventions such as enteral feeding, long-term ventilation, symptom management and clinical support during episodes of acute childhood illness. We are committed to enabling children to remain at home wherever possible. Our service focuses on empowering families to confidently meet their childs healthcare needs, providing planned respite sessions, delivering acute and palliative care in community settings, and supporting children within their educational environments. We are commissioned to provide comprehensive services across each of our four localities. This post is based in Witney/Abingdon; however, as we operate a countywide service, regular travel to other areas and bases is required. A full, valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes are essential. Core service hours are 08:0020:00, 7 days a week. Staff work contracted hours on a shift pattern, including weekends and bank holidays. The 24-hour palliative on-call rota (20:0008:00) is currently covered by Band 6 staff and above. Where appropriate, flexible working arrangements may be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
