The opportunity has arisen for two band 4 Associate Clinical Research Practitioners to join the Leicester Diabetes Centre) based at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust on the Leicester General Hospital site.

We are looking for a highly motivated, hardworking and enthusiastic individuals to join this busy fast paced clinical research team. You will be required to support the delivery of our commercial and non-commercial trials by collecting high quality data, with particular attention to detail where patients and non-patient participants are at the centre of what we do.

The post holder will be expected to manage the day to day running of research studies/clinics under the support and guidance of the Research Nurses, Trial Managers and study teams, by preparing patient notes, conducting clinical observations, and venous sampling/processing.

The post will involve liaison with all grades of staff in a multi-disciplinary department; therefore, the ability to communicate clearly, calmly and effectively with a broad range of people is important.

The successful candidates must be able to use a range of Microsoft Office applications, demonstrate competency in clinical skills, have the ability to manage their own time and work with minimal supervision. Organisational skills and the ability to work both on your own and as part of a team are essential. The post requires flexibility and the ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:
• high-quality care for all,
• being a great place to work,
• partnerships for impact, and
• research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
• we are compassionate,
• we are proud,
• we are inclusive, and
• we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
