A Vacancy at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.
This is an exciting opportunity for motivated Doctors with an interest in Emergency Medicine to develop their knowledge and skills in an innovative and busy trauma centre. We have upcoming vacancy on our SHO and Junior Clinical fellow rota and are looking to recruit suitably qualified and experienced Doctors at ST1/2 level. The posts are suitable for Doctors who have completed Foundation Training [or the equivalent] to join the SHO rota, and at least be post F2, and with some additional Emergency Medicine experience.
The post will include regular teaching and with the opportunity to get involved in audit/research. The posts include paid CPD time, encouraged and supported to develop personal educational interests. The department is well supported with middle grades and consultants who work a 24/7 rota. UHCW is a major trauma centre and the Junior doctors have allocated resus shifts in order for them to get involved with acutely unwell patients and trauma. All Doctors are allocated an Education Supervisor on starting a post to support of their educational needs.

The post involves working a full shift rota, including nights and weekends
• To ensure a safe and high standard of care of all patients in the Emergency Department & to work within the guidelines and practices of the Department. This includes liaison with colleagues in ED and other departments.
• To assist with the training and supervision of medical students and other allied health professionals in the Emergency Department.
• Attend the organised teaching sessions and participate in departmental audit projects.
• To participate in regular appraisal and mentoring sessions with the designated educational supervisor.
