Are you interested in the link between physical and emotional health? Would you like to take up a lead role in the service development of our Paediatric Psychological Therapies provision within a creative and enthusiastic team who prioritise supporting our staff and their development by providing both individual and group supervision as well as regular team discussions?

We are very excited to invite applications for a Band 8A post in our Paediatric Psychological Therapies team. We have funding for 0.6 WTE. The Psychological Therapies Team is a growing, unique hospital-based psychological service. Having established an excellent reputation over the years, offering treatment for both inpatients and outpatients from a range of medical specialities, we now deliver care to across all three hospital sites within Mid & South Essex NHS Foundation Trust.

We are a vibrant multidisciplinary team which includes psychotherapists, child and adolescent psychotherapists, counsellors, clinical and counselling psychologists, art therapists, mental health liaison staff and administrators.

You will lead the delivery of a new service to provide Psychological Therapies across a broad range of paediatric patient groups, such as Type 1 Diabetes/Oncology/Neonatal, and working with both inpatients and outpatients and their families. .

In addition, you will provide clinical supervision and support staff through reflective practice. This role would be ideal for a colleague who is keen to develop their leadership skills whilst retaining opportunities to deliver clinical work.

We are looking for a skilled, experienced, enthusiastic, and highly motivated individual, who is resilient and flexible and able to meet the challenge of this complex work. We require a fully accredited and qualified candidate who is able to work on their own initiative, as well as in a supportive team with a displayed interest in the link between physical and psychological health. Interviews will be in two stages to give candidates a clear idea of the post and for us to experience them in both group and individual settings.
